Frequently asked questions

Why does my pet need grooming?

Every pet benefits from regular grooming. Grooming is very important for the health and well-being of your pet. Every pet should learn at an early age to be "handled". You should be able to touch the pet anywhere on it's body, you should be able to touch the feet, look inside the ears and be able to open it's mouth. With regular grooming you should be able to detect any changes in the skin, notice cuts, any other wounds or any kind of bugs on your pet.

Why use a professional Groomer?
Can I groom myself?

Of course you can groom your pet! With the right tools and products you should be able to do it. But, please consider you will need to set aside time for grooming and probably even more time for cleaning up. It can develop into a "hairy" situation very quickly.

So why not leave it up to the Professionals? I have all the right tools, products and the Know How to make your pet look it's very best. And in the end you're still your companions best friend.

Whatever your decision will be, I'm more than happy to give you tips on the right equipment and proper techniques to use on your pet.

How often do I need to have my pet groomed?

That depends on a lot of things. What kind of fur does your pet have? How often will you be grooming at home? How long do you want it's fur to be? Etc. etc. On average, most pets will have to be groomed every 6 to 8 weeks. Usually the longer you like the fur to be, the more often you will have to get your pet groomed. Please don't wait too long. Removing mats and tangles from your pets fur can turn into a nightmare for all involved. If you don't have the time for thorough brushing in between grooming's, either keep your pet's haircut short or bring it more often.

I want my pet short, but not shaved

Most haircuts are done with electric clippers. Nowadays we have a variety of blades and blade attachments to choose from, which means I can take the hair as short as a surgical area or leave it up to one inch long. For any hairstyles longer than an inch, you would need to hand scissor the hair. Please keep in mind the finish of the haircut will also largely depend on the condition of the pet when dropped off. I give my best every day with every client.
